Education Philosophy

Philosophy of Education

The philosophy of Emmanuel Lutheran School is to teach children to read, learn, live, and to grow into the fullness of Christ through His Word and Sacraments.

We follow a model of Classical Education that is uniquely Lutheran. That unique focus emphasizes the mastery of a core body of knowledge, but adds the higher goal of exposing students to the depth and breadth of learning that comes from recognizing God as the source of all knowledge and wisdom.

Each student is challenged to excel academically and to grow in their Christian faith and be in service to others. Parents, in partnership with our teachers, agree to support and model what pleases God in bringing up their children. More than merely teaching morals and what it means to be good, we work under Christ to teach children to turn to the source and fountain of all goodness and holiness, God Himself.
